OSTEOPATHY FOR SCIATICA

Sciatica is the term we use to describe the pain that comes from irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve. This nerve runs from your spine and travels down your leg into your foot.

Pain from sciatica can hit you suddenly like a lightning bolt, or may feel like an excruciating ‘toothache’ in your leg or ankle. Symptoms can also include numbness or pins and needles.

Causes of sciatica include a prolapsed spinal disc, spinal wear and tear or muscular compression of the sciatic nerve. In some cases it can take several weeks to resolve.

I will help to reduce your pain as quickly as possible and I’ll be clear about how long I think that will take. Then we can move on to reducing the chances of your sciatica returning.
