Protecting You

I want you to understand as much as possible about your treatment before we begin, so the the first time we speak I’ll explain the risks involved, especially in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic. A summary of the measures I take to protect us all are available to read on this site. The link is on the home page. The full document is available by email on request.

There are other risks involed in manual therapy and I’ll also explain them. I’ll then ask you to confirm that you understand those risks and that you agree to receive treatment from me. This is known as informed consent and is an ongoing process.

It’s important that you’re happy with all aspects of your care. If you have any reservations or complaints I’d like you to tell me so that I can improve the service I provide. Alternatively, you can look at my complaints procedure which is available to download here (PDF).

As part of the process of running the practice and taking your case history, I’ll be making a record of some of your personal information. I’m registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office. That means I must keep all information about you secure, confidential and in accordance with the requirements of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
